Yes, the laptop is old, but the concept is the same! Stop posting retarded comments people.
This is very simple soldering. The risk of exploding is not likely if you know what you are doing!
Amateurs may want to get some professional assistance though.

no, no… lots of batteries still have the liion cells like that, just see if yours does. however this is dangerous, most people probably wont bother, but if you do, make sure the polarities are correct. if they aren’t or some stray wires make contact, the batteries will blow.

not fake, but also not a hack, kip, you don’t have to use the word hack in all ur vids

@alphaman1101
DO NOT TRY THIS. The laptop he was using was from 10 years+ ago, modern ones will be nothing like this inside and it could/would be dangerous to try it. Your best bet is to go onto ebay and type in the name of your battery/laptop and get a replacement – it’ll still cost a fraction of one direct from dell
as with all batteries these days beware of cheap chinese copies – they’re rubbish and sometimes dangerous.

will only work on a very cheap very old, very poorly built laptop.
Its a seriously bad idea to open up most new batteries. Battery tech has come a LONG way in the last 10 years and no longer have a few wires and masking tape holding off the shelf batteries together!

the fan in my laptop is really loud i think its just full of dust and it slows down the performance of the computer. I looked online to see if there was something that other people had done but it seemed too risky as i would have to take my whole computer apart to attempt a cleaning.
Do you have any remedies for something like this?

February 5th, 2010 at 6:26 am
The problem is that you need to reset the battery controller. And yes this is dangerous and can explode in your face.
